Ever wonder what happens to your cardboard, paper & commingled goods after collection?

After collection, your recycling is taken to Challenge Community Services in Tamworth where it is sorted and processed, making use of your recycled materials where possible. Community facilities such as the outdoor seating at Endeavour Park and plastic road bollards found at the Tamworth Skate Park are made from local recycled plastic.

What is contaminated recycling?
Contaminated recycling refers anything that does not belong in recycling. For example, a cardboard pizza box is usually contaminated with oil - meaning it should go in general waste. Used paper towel is usually contaminated as well and should not enter this bin.
